3. cad, cap, cas, ceiv, cept, cid: to take, to seize, to hold
  • Example: capacious (adective): containing a great deal
  • Sentence: You have a capacious library with many unusual books.

4. dic, dit: say, speak
  • Example: dictate (verb): to speak for a person to record, to issue an order
  • Sentence: The lawyer dictated the letter to her secretary.

5. ev, et: time, age
  • Example: medieval (adjective): relating to the Middle Ages (500 - 1500 AD)
